The bed was the one thing that didn’t work for us. We’re used to a Stearns & Foster mattress at home, and these beds felt too hard, though I know hotel mattresses get a lot of use. Otherwise, the room was comfortable: the two queen beds were neatly made, the temperature stayed right at 68 degrees overnight, and the bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. The shower had strong pressure and hot water, and the AC worked well. Check-in online was easy, and the front desk clerk greeted us warmly. Breakfast was ready at 6:30 a.m., with plenty of hot choices, good coffee, and a clean dining room. There are scuffs, chipped paint, and stains in places, so this isn’t a five-star hotel, but being set back from the main four-lane road kept traffic noise from being a problem.
10/10
The people here are so understanding and upbeat. A few of the staff have even become friends of mine, and I really appreciate their kindness and respect. The rooms are clean and nice, and I’ve stayed in several different ones. The Lafayette location is great, with a pool and plenty of parking. Love this hotel.

The cockroach on the wall on my last night was huge, and after seeing it I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t wait to leave. I’d normally choose Holiday Inn Express for a quick trip because I’ve had good experiences with IHG hotels, but this stay was awful. At check-in, the front desk woman had a bad attitude, brushed off my question, and wouldn’t even look up at me. The room was spacious, though it felt dated and not clean. There was dirt and grime in the bathroom, the tub looked rusty and dirty, and I found a dead roach under the AC unit. This is the Holiday Inn Express on Ambassador Caffery Pkwy. There’s another Holiday Inn Express in Lafayette, and I’d try that one instead.
2/10
I booked two nights so we could be close to the hospital and my husband could rest while he was unable to drive. We had our one-year-old and two-month-old with us. We left after just one night because the bathtub was disgusting. They wouldn’t refund the second night, and management showed no concern about the bathroom conditions.
8/10
The room was tidy and didn’t smell bad, but the AC was so loud I had to switch it off to sleep. I’d give the room a 6/10 and breakfast an 8/10.
