Red Roof Inn Lafayette - Purdue University

The rooms are nice, but that's about it. The AC kept freezing over and leaking water. People were constantly using drugs in the parking lot, and some were doing it in their rooms too. The front desk didn't care, and the smell came through the bathroom vent into my room. There were tons of sketchy people around the whole time I was there. Most importantly, after I left, they charged me twice extra, once for $150 and once for $500, with no notes explaining why. They won't give me receipts or refund the charges, and neither they nor corporate know why I was charged. I'm out $650 until my bank disputes it. For anyone wondering, I cleaned my room fully except for two bags of trash by the door. I piled up all the blankets and sheets and picked everything up to make cleaning as easy as possible. Do not stay here. Red roof needs to take away this place's franchise. They're charging me for nothing and won't provide a receipt.

I booked a 1 King Bed, but when I arrived they gave me two single beds and said no other rooms were available. They couldn't honor the reservation, so I had to cancel. The room also smelled strongly of mildew and felt dusty and unclean. It triggered my asthma immediately, so it wasn't safe for me to stay. Even after Expedia contacted the property twice for me, management (Bryan) refused to refund me and stuck to the “non-refundable policy.” If a hotel can't provide the room booked and the room raises a health concern, a refund should be the minimum. This was handled poorly start to finish. I'd strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

I've stayed at this red roof for about a month, and it's by far the nicest Red Roof in the greater area. Housekeeping is great and really friendly, and the grounds are well kept. The front desk is always helpful and friendly, and the hotel is very quiet, without the riff raff you get at normal hotels. I'd recommend it to anyone with pets. You won't be disappointed!

We arrived late at night, got into the room, and immediately turned around and left. It was disgusting from top to bottom, with multiple unidentifiable hairs on the bed, pillows, and sheets, plus peeling paint on the walls. I wish I could give zero stars.
