Spark by Hilton Lafayette

We’d driven from Texas for work, more than 13 hours, and got in around 4 a.m. Being right off the interstate was great, and we were able to get ready and head out when we woke up. Breakfast hit the spot. I had links, a cheese omelette and potatoes with Tabasco, ketchup and black pepper, plus orange juice. The juice machine actually worked! The front desk women gave us a warm good morning, complimented my babygirl and offered her cookies. The breakfast attendant was funny, and everyone seemed so joyful. It made the stay easy and comforting. The room was clean, the air felt good, and the pillows were fluffy. They were bringing in upgraded beds as we were leaving. The pillows were lumpy and worn, and the fitted sheet seemed sized for a queen even though the bed was a king. It kept popping off the corners as soon as we got in. We were too tired after a long day to deal with it, but it made for a disappointing stay.

The front desk clerk was friendly and found us a quiet room away from traffic. Our room was spacious and clean, and we were happy with the stay. Breakfast was fresh and tasted good, though there wasn’t as much variety as at other Hilton locations. The hotel welcomes dogs and doesn’t charge for service animals. I use Bring Fido to find hotels and book through Hilton Honors.

Sam made check-in easy and was so helpful and delightful. The two women working when we checked out the next morning were just as sweet. I haven’t had such consistently good hotel service before. The bed wasn’t the usual Hampton bed, which was my one letdown, but I know they’re renovating right now. Thanks, ladies!
