Staybridge Suites Lafayette by IHG

For a work event, I stayed one night on Jan 15. The location was great, close to Meijer and easy to reach, and check-in service was wonderful. The room was a good size and quite comfortable. I’d suggest a single serve coffee maker instead of having to brew a whole pot for one person. Also, if interstate noise bothers you or makes it hard to fall asleep, ask for a room without a window facing the interstate. I’ll do that next time.

I was there for about a week and came away impressed. I travel all over the US and have stayed in plenty of motels and hotels, but this was my first time at a Staybridge. The rooms were super clean and the service exceptional. They serve dinner Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and the breakfast was pretty decent. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks.

We know hotels have rules about visitors, but a calm explanation would have been enough. Instead, a staff member was aggressive and disrespectful, and the whole thing felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. My teenage friends and I had saved our own money to stay two nights at Candlewood Suites, on February 13th and 14th. Some classmates were at Staybridge Suites, which served breakfast, so we agreed to meet them there briefly in the morning. As soon as we entered the lobby, an employee fired questions at us, including why we were there and what room we were in. We politely explained that we were meeting friends staying there. She didn’t simply explain the policy. She got hostile, said we couldn’t be there, started locking the lobby doors, and threatened to call the police. As we were leaving, she took pictures of me and my friends. I respectfully asked if she’d photographed us, and she denied it, though it was clear what she was doing. Her manner was disrespectful and unnecessary. Another employee came out and stood in the doorway staring at us in a rude, uncomfortable way. We didn’t engage and went back to our hotel. At Candlewood Suites, a staff member told us she’d received complaints from other hotels. We explained what had happened, and she was understanding, calm, and helpful. The adults’ behavior at Staybridge was simply unprofessional.

Our first time in WEST LAFAYETTE was a great visit, helped by a comfortable stay here and the good staff. Staybridge Suites works well for a short trip or a longer stay. The in-house facilities are good: there’s a good breakfast spread, plenty of washers and dryers, a gym with clean, working equipment, and a place to get PRINTOUTs. There are lots of places to eat nearby, and shopping malls are a drive away. We loved our stay and the facilities.
