Disney's Contemporary Resort

The south garden wing at the Contemporary was quiet, close to the pool, and near a lovely lake view. While my husband and adult daughter slept in, I watched beautiful sunrises from a comfortable chair by the water. A short walk to the tower got me coffee and danish to bring back and get them moving. We had four parks in four days, which was awesome. On Sunday I may have overdone it and passed out while waiting for fireworks. My husband quickly found a team member, who called the on-site paramedics. They were amazing. I went to the ER at Celebration to make sure it was a one-time event, and they took great care of me too. I felt fine on Monday and we finished our trip at the Magic Kingdom. I really appreciate everyone who helped my family and me that evening. Disney service is the best.

We had a great time and will definitely visit again. Our room in the main tower faced the water and was clean, cozy, and spacious. From there we watched beautiful sunrises and the electric water parade at night. The monorail on the property is very convenient. We picked the hotel because it was walkable to Magic Kingdom, but ended up taking the monorail every time instead. Food and shopping choices were decent. Character dining at Chef Mickey's was memorable: the food was good and meeting the characters was great. My only small complaint is the shower. The overhead shower leaked when I turned on the hand shower, and the water pressure was low.

I loved my first stay at the Contemporary and can't wait to return. The location is hard to beat, with fireworks and electric water pageant views. Staying in a less expensive Garden Wing room gives you a quiet spot close to everything, and the monorail to EPCOT and short walk to Magic Kingdom make it a good value. California Grill and Steakhouse 71 both had excellent food and service. Such a relaxing trip!

The recent refurbishment added some great features to our Garden Wing room, which was larger than most. The lighting was fantastic, something I'm particular about, and I liked the storage, drawers, big walk-in shower, water closet, and very comfortable mattresses. My adult daughter had been skeptical after seeing social media posts, but she loved it. We usually choose BC, though we'll definitely stay here again. The Contemporary's location is hard to beat, especially for MK. Epcot is easy by monorail too, and there's no need to fold strollers. The trip there is quicker than the return, since the ride back stops at other monorail resorts. My recurring issue with Disney rooms is having a beverage cooler instead of a mini fridge. At deluxe prices, I think there should be a way to keep dairy and perishables cold. The cooler is shallow, only 6-8" deep. Filtered water at the refill station would help as well. The tea there tasted off, while the tea at the qs place at AKL jambo tasted normal. You can really tell the difference, though I don't know why some places have filtered water and others don't.
