La Quinta Inn & Ste by Wyndham Wisconsin Dells- Lake Delton

It's a nice hotel in a convenient location, and the price is fair. But as a Rewards Member, I expected better service. I was staying nearby with my family at the Wilderness and wanted some space and a private soak in a tub. At check-in, I was told rooms on any floor were available, and I said I didn't mind. Then I got a first-floor room with a shower and no tub. When I asked to move, they said the hotel was full. That was confusing after they'd just offered other rooms, and the parking lot made it look like the hotel wasn't full. I believe the staff simply didn't want to be bothered. The toilet was soiled, which really put me off. I reported it and nobody acknowledged it.

The pool and hot tub were fantastic, the bed was super comfy, and the other employees we met were nice. Still, lots went wrong. At check-in, the first employee tried to put us in a smaller room than we'd paid for and asked, "Is it mandatory to have a sofa sleeper?" It was confusing, since I expected the room we'd booked. He didn't offer a discount for the smaller room and didn't apologize when I had to go back and point out the mistake. He also gave us no information about breakfast times, happy hour, or anything else. The outlets didn't work, and the TV had no signal for the first full day. The back of the sofa and bed were filthy, with piles of dust and debris, and hadn't been vacuumed. We texted after being told to reach out by text if we needed anything, but never got a response. Breakfast was being cleared away 30 minutes early.

The hotel was great, with very clean rooms, friendly staff, and a good continental breakfast. The one problem was housekeeping outside our door at 8 am. They were laughing and talking loudly for around 15 minutes, and it woke us up. Still, a great hotel overall.

Don't book here. Kids screamed in the hall, knocked on doors, and called rooms past midnight. I notified management several times, but they did nothing. It was freezing in the hotel, and they wouldn't raise the temperature even after I asked repeatedly. There were also fees and charges after checkout that they wouldn't provide a receipt for. I've been asking for one for a week, and still haven't received it. I had to dispute the charges with my bank as fraud.
