Microtel Inn by Wyndham Georgetown

For an affordable stay, this place did the job. The rooms were clean and the service was great. The location was just okay, and you won't get a five-star experience here, but it's a solid option if you don't want to spend much.

The smell was the hardest part of both visits, stale cigarette smoke mixed with cheap cleaner, and it was overwhelming. I stayed twice on separate occasions. The first time, the Wi-Fi was poor and renovation work echoed through the halls for much of the day. On my second stay, I was on another floor, the connection was good, and the work noise was gone. Staff were friendly, the room was clean with basic amenities, and breakfast offered a few hot choices but not much else. It is a very budget-friendly hotel, so I hadn't expected much.

The staff were really kind and accommodating, and the clean hotel had comfortable beds. We came to Kentucky for the Ark Encounter, so this was a convenient spot at a good price. Being just outside Lexington also gave us a chance to try an escape room. We had a great two-day stay and would come back.

Breakfast was mostly cold choices like yogurt, cereal, and fruit, with a waffle maker as the hot option. The hotel is conveniently close to I-75, but the rooms were just okay. Some areas, including the front desk, were being renovated, and there were no ice makers.
