The desk person was extremely friendly, and FatKatz right next door had some of the best pizza we’ve ever had. A really lovely stop on our way down to Florida.

The room was small, which I could live with, but I could smell other people’s cigarette smoke in the bathroom. When I opened the blinds to see what the day looked like, an older man was staring in at me. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a woman traveling alone.

We chose this place because it’s handy for events at the Horse Park, allows dogs for a small fee, and lets you get to your room easily from the car. The bed was very comfortable, though the bathroom was incredibly small. The refrigerator top had a thick layer of grease and dust, and the room reeked of stale pot smoke, probably from residents a couple of doors down. Friends staying in the Red Roof section said it was much nicer. My friend made a reservation in the studios by mistake, and I won’t make that same mistake again.

I’ve lived in Georgetown, Kentucky my whole life, and I remember this hotel being seen as a dope den and a place to hang out and do bad things. The Red Roof Inn in Georgetown, Kentucky has since been remodeled and renovated, and the results are amazing. It takes real effort to take on a property with a bad reputation in the community and fix it. The men and women running it have done that, and it feels like somewhere you can bring your kids and family for a night or longer. They picked up someone else’s problems, put in the work, and made the place an attraction too. The result looks good. I’d give them 10 stars if I could, but I’ll stick with five and say they’re doing great. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with the rest of the property.
