Home2 Suites by Hilton Georgetown

We’d pick Home2 over Marriott, Holiday Inn or Quality Inn. The rooms have a good-sized, well-equipped kitchenette, and the staff are very hospitable. The rooms and pool were clean, and breakfast was hot and fresh with plenty of options. They also had complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and cookies for Christmas, plus an interesting range of snacks and drinks for sale at the desk.

We travel as a family and sometimes need a hotel along the way. This newer Home 2 Suites was very clean and in a nice, safe area. It made an excellent stop.

Samantha at the help desk deserves a personal thank you. I mentioned a few small room issues in the morning, and the maintenance guy had fixed them before I got back from our work events. The room service also ran like clockwork and never missed a beat. I honestly didn’t expect Hilton to take this kind of approach, but I liked it. You can see the effort in the colors, setup, theme, details and amenities. It has a different vibe from other places, and felt almost like visiting another home, leaving a lasting impression. I also loved seeing my name on the TV when I got to the room. Everyone made the stay pleasant and memorable. Thanks, HOME2 staff. This review is a few weeks late, and I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.

The hotel itself was great: clean, good value and with a great breakfast. The front desk staff felt oddly unfriendly, with no smiles, greetings or conversation. One breakfast worker also went from table to table ordering people to throw their things out. Hospitality is the business here, so Hilton needs personable people. Seems like common sense.
