Lake Aire Motel

The owner is so sweet, and the rooms are really nice for the price. We enjoyed our Friday-to-Sunday stay so much that we extended it through Monday. We'll definitely be back!

The bugs and spiders in the bed were awful, and the way the front desk treated us made this one of my worst travel stays. I've traveled often and done hotel inspections for years. Bugs in a bed aren't just gross, they're a health risk. I stayed Friday, July 25th, hoping for an affordable, convenient place near a resort I'd just checked out of. The online pictures made it look updated, clean, and reasonably priced, but none of that matched reality. Check-in began fine, and the woman at the desk, who I suspect lives onsite with her husband, was initially friendly. But the rate and policy she quoted by phone changed after my boyfriend went inside. Suddenly the two-night minimum and the price she'd given me no longer applied. We paid $125 cash for one night in Room 8, with no deposit. The room was outdated and musty, nothing like the photos. The wooden door had a large glass cutout with no curtain, so passersby could see inside. The bathroom was tiny, and the front door didn't fit its frame properly, leaving a way for bugs, flies, and ants to get in. We thought we could manage for one night. After being at the nearby resort from about 2:30 PM until after 8 PM, we finally checked the bed. Behind it were bugs and several spiders, and the mattress and box spring showed clear signs of bed bugs. I have photos and video proof. The bed was uncomfortable, and I immediately told my boyfriend I wanted to leave. When we reported it, the woman got defensive and rude. She accused us of staying there all day and only complaining at night, told us to shut up, and said not to talk to her. She offered Lysol and a cloth, as if that would fix a possible infestation. Only after we showed proof did she quickly hand over $40 and tell us to leave and never book there again. We won't.

Ann, the owner, made the getaway fun by chatting with me, and her fur baby Hugo was so precious. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. My room had been newly renovated and was clean, including the bedding, and I found the beds very comfortable. The pool was clean and enjoyable too. The place was quiet, with no kids running around, and really relaxing. Thanks for such an enjoyable weekend away!

I stayed Aug 15-17th 2025 and came away pleasantly surprised, even though I was skeptical at first. The room had been remodeled, I slept well, and most importantly, there were NO BEDBUGS !!! When I got locked out late at night, someone was available to help right away. I'd recommend this motel if you're on a budget.
