The French Country Inn Lake Geneva

My husband surprised me with a few days away at this lovely little inn. We had no special occasion, and I love him even more for picking it. Our room was beautiful, with a perfect panoramic lake view. We were there in the fall and could see the trees changing color across the water. The check-in and check-out staff were both very nice. The restaurant was just two doors and a couple of steps from our room. Breakfast was delicious, and dinner was good. The servers are very kind. I think the 25% tip added with the coupon is there because servers give their all and customers might leave without tipping. I don’t see it as a scam, but a way to make sure kind, low-paid servers get what they deserve. If service is bad, ask to have the tip returned. That’s simple. Our stay was awesome, and we’ll be back often.

We’ve returned several times over the past five years or so, because the property is beautiful and peaceful. I especially love the lake views and cozy rooms. The only small thing I’d change is the room artwork. It feels a little dated next to the rest of the boutique decor, and a refresh could make the rooms feel brighter and more current. Still a wonderful stay.

We really enjoyed the fireplace, which made our room feel warm and cozy. Our deluxe room had a king-size bed and a top-of-the-line shower, and the inn itself has a fascinating history. The on-site restaurant has a very nice bar and serves breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was excellent, and dinner had lots of choices, including seafood, steaks, and pasta. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I can’t wait to go back.

The staff made us feel like family, and the food was wonderful. Everything was super clean, and the interior colors were beautiful. My new wife and I spent our first day as husband and wife at French Country Inn. It was quaint, comfortable, and tucked away, just the kind of place to relax and celebrate privately.
