Lakefront Terrace Resort

The photos made the room look nice and clean, but it was a very different experience in person. When we walked in, a strange smell hit us and we had to air the place out. The floor was sandy, the beds were old and scuffed, and there was a big ceiling stain that looked like old leak damage. The toilet wobbled in every direction and wasn't fastened securely. Everything felt worn and long neglected, though the rest of the bathroom was okay. The front desk staff and manager were very rude. It was my first stay at this resort, and definitely my last. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but I couldn't let this one go.

We were there over Labor Day weekend, and I won't be back or recommend the hotel. The room photos online didn't match what we found. As soon as we entered, there were lots of wasps, and management hadn't even sprayed them. The service was poor. The place was filthy: mold in the bathtub, leak stains on the ceiling, a very dirty floor, dark spots on the headboard, and towels that weren't clean. The balcony chairs were dirty too, with garbage left by previous guests.

We liked the lake, staff, and other shared areas, but the rooms weren't up to standard for the price. We had two rooms, and both smelled bad. Our bathroom was just gross, as the photos show, and the place really needs to do better.

The rooms themselves are very nice and updated, and the beach is great, with plenty of lounge chairs and some umbrellas. The poolside cafe/snackbar/bar is good, and the service is wonderful. The bathrooms and exterior need renovation. It can also get a little noisy at night because the rooms are close to the outdoor areas where people gather.
