Super 8 by Wyndham Lake George/Downtown

The staff really helped us out during a busy Labor Day weekend, and we appreciated the sundaes on Saturday night and the little playground for the kids. There’s no baby swing, so I brought an attachment to adapt a regular swing for my youngest. Two swings would’ve helped, since the kids argued over turns, but we were glad to have the park. The pool was clean and heated, and several fire pits are lit from 6 to 11. Outside, there are games including giant Jenga, checkers, and giant Connect 4. Our room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the refrigerator a good size. We booked last minute and asked for a second-floor room, which we got. It stayed pretty quiet despite the full hotel, apart from passing cars. Several restaurants are just a few minutes away on foot, Million Dollar Beach is under a 20-minute walk, and Stewart’s is right across the street. The booking site said breakfast was free, while the hotel’s site described free coffee and a breakfast item. What was available was a few kinds of granola bars, apples, orange and apple juice, coffee, and tea. We’d definitely stay again.

The staff were so friendly, and the grounds were charming, with green grass, a playscape, fire pits, and a clean pool. The rooms were clean too, though a little dated, and the beds were comfy. I wish there were privacy curtains that let daylight in without making the room visible from outside. Calling the free breakfast a breakfast is a stretch: it was cereal bars, apples, juice, and coffee. A few more options would’ve been nice, but Stewart’s is directly across the street.

For what they charge, this budget motel in Lake George, NY is a good value. The rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There’s no restaurant on site, so you’ll need to sort out your own meals. It’s nothing fancy, just a clean, comfortable place to rest for a fair price.

We were told we’d be on the second floor, but got a first-floor room and could hear the kids running around upstairs. That was the only real downside. Otherwise, our room was very nice and clean, every staff member was exceptionally nice and helpful, and the pool was fabulous, clean, and a lovely temperature. Pool towels were provided, and they also held a very nice ice cream social. The owner on site was lovely. I’d definitely stay here again.
