The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The setup was spartan but totally acceptable. My kitchenette had a stove but no oven, along with a small fridge and microwave. There was also a coffee machine, coffee, creamer, and sugar. The walls are thin, so turning the TV up over the air conditioner probably won't win you points with the neighbors. It had what you'd expect.

I really like the old-school vibe here. The owner was very nice and helped me get into my room, and I felt welcome. I'll be coming back regularly when I fish.

We booked online through Expedia three months ahead for an event, using the “PAY AT PROPERTY” option, then found out a few weeks before the scheduled date that we'd been canceled. They said they do not accept CHASE CARDS and lectured us that they take PAYMENT up front, not three months out. She asked, “Well wouldn't you take a Pmt now and not when a person gets here?” Crazy town, and the response was just as crazy. Case closed, avoid. Yes, Karma, it worked out for us because it reminds me of Bates hotel. READ ALL REVIEWS.

Everything was easy to follow with the online process, and getting in was simple. The owner is awesome. The place is quiet, quaint, cozy, and old school, right off the road. Shell and restaurants are within walking distance up the road, and Lake Isabella is directly across the street, fenced off. There's coffee, plenty of soap and towels, AC and a heater. The shower gets very hot and feels nice. Happy with our stay!

We stayed for the 2024 Quail opener, and the rooms were a retro surprise despite how little the place looks from the road. Ours was spacious and practical, with a separate kitchen, table, coffeepot, microwave, refrigerator, two burners, and sink. It was handy to clean up after a day in the field without putting everything in the bedroom. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was a good size, and there was a big closet. Staff members were very helpful. It brought back that mid-century kitsch from childhood. We'll definitely return.
