Walking around the lake and playing pickleball were the best parts. I’d come for a walk, but stay and eat somewhere else. Our room wasn’t clean to our standards. The carpet was gross, the bed skirts should be removed, and the smell seemed like someone was trying to cover something up. The bathroom layout was awkward: each time the door opened, it hit the shower rod. The toilet was right beside the shower, making it hard to get out between that and the door. The bed was comfortable for one person, but I don’t know how it would be for two. My husband and I chose separate beds because we didn’t want to risk sharing one. Breakfast was inedible. The oatmeal was cold, congealed, and had no salt. The fruit had a strange flavor, and the pancakes looked like hard frisbees. The bacon was about the only thing I could eat. The coffee tasted like lukewarm swamp water. I really don’t know who would pay $15 for that.

A late review, but we had a wonderful stay at the Terrace. The staff were absolutely lovely, the room was very nice, and walking around the lake was so peaceful and enjoyable. We’ll be back and would definitely recommend it.

I really liked the lobby’s varied tea selection. Along with black, breakfast, green, and chamomile, there was Sleepytime, Orange & Spice, Lemon Ginger, and apple cider. Room #1418 was clean, bug-free, and had a very comfortable bed. The employees were kind. At checkout, the little old lady at the desk by the second parking lot entrance offered me the last of the coffee before putting it away. We chatted for a bit, which was sweet of her. A couple of things could be improved. The coffee machine in Room #1418 had to be moved across the room because there wasn’t an accessible outlet nearby. Its tray was broken, with the rim lifting and the bottom melted onto the wooden TV dresser. The dresser was scuffed and could use new paint or refinishing.

Everything inside and around the hotel feels peaceful, and the view is great. The staff are helpful with whatever you need. The gym is fantastic, with great equipment and a beautiful view of Lake Junaluska while you work out. I think the whole place is great!!!

I’ve stayed here twice with my son and grandsons, both times in November during the last two years. The staff are all very friendly, and the breakfasts are excellent. I love looking out over the lake each morning when we have a Lakeside room.
