Residence Inn by Marriott Lake Oswego

The property is over 40 years old and doesn’t have flashy decor, but the hospitality makes up for that. We had to leave home for four months while it was being remodeled, and Residence Inn felt like home away from home. The staff are really nice and do a great job cleaning the rooms when needed. The kitchen is tiny, but there’s a good range of food at the free breakfast. Thanks for making our stay comfortable while our house got some much-needed upgrades!

The only real downside was the noise from upstairs. From a first-floor room, you can hear footsteps and water clearly. It didn’t affect my stay too much, though. The room was clean and had plenty of amenities, and having laundry on site was really convenient. Breakfast was pretty decent, and I’m always glad when coffee is ready first thing in the morning.

The loft and king bed were amazing, though the couch bed and Murphy bed were just okay and less comfortable. I liked having two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, and free breakfast with lots of choices, including waffles you make yourself. It was quiet, the front desk lady was nice, and they brought fresh linens and towels when I asked. The pool was closed, but the website had warned us, so we expected that. Free parking and breakfast, and it’s near the freeways. I’ll definitely stay again.

I was here for a work trip that lasted several weeks, and my experience didn’t match the four-star rating. The first room was so gross I had to ask to move. The second was better, but still fell short. It never felt clean during my stay. The carpet looks like it might be original from 1980, the couch is barely usable, and the bathroom is dated with an undersized tub. My shower curtain didn’t reach far enough, so water spilled out. The toilet backed up every two days, and maintenance eventually lent me a plunger to handle it myself. I sympathize with the employees, and it’s nothing personal, but don’t expect a marriot. To me, it’s an old, outdated hotel with a marriot sign on it. There are newer hotels nearby for the same or a similar price, so I’d look elsewhere.
