The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We had to wait outside our room for five minutes when we arrived because the cleaners were still working, but we didn’t mind. It was nice to see the room getting a thorough clean. On day two our cards wouldn’t open the door. A group of cleaners were in the hall, helped us get in, then offered to fetch replacement cards and brought them back. We were pleased with how helpful everyone was. For Valentine’s Day weekend the rate was great compared with other hotels nearby, and it was a very quick, easy drive to Main Street. The downsides were the full parking lot on a busy weekend, where we were lucky to get the last spot, and thin walls. We could hear TVs from both neighboring rooms, thankfully turned off at a decent hour, as well as murmuring and sometimes whole conversations. It’s a good place if you just need a bed and aren’t looking for anything fancy.

For the few nights I was visiting, this was simply a place to sleep. The low price was the main plus: I came over New Year’s weekend, when nearby places were charging inflated rates, and this was about two miles from Main Street at Lake Placid. The lot also wasn’t well plowed or maintained, so in winter you’ll likely need 4x4 to park without trouble. The room looked clean at first glance, but the furniture and bedding had stains, curtains were coming off their rails, and the toilet only flushed if you held it down. Worst of all, there was visible mold growing on the shower walls. I didn’t have a problem with the other guests myself, though the clientele might make some people uncomfortable. Location and price are the only real benefits. I’d spend extra for one of the better nearby options.

I’m local and booked a room just so I could take my daughter swimming for the day. I only needed a pool, and the price suited what I was looking for. There was an issue with my stay, but the service to sort it out was great.

I booked three days through booking.com for $185, or $61.99 a day. On the morning I was checking out, I tried to reserve one more night. The owner said to book through the booking company or he’d charge $150 for the night. I don’t understand why the owner couldn’t offer a good price like the third party did, especially with the hotel empty. I ended up leaving and booking somewhere else. One thing’s for sure, I’ll NEVER be back!
