The Haus on Mirror Lake

The apartment was lovely, clean, cozy, and comfortable, with a gorgeous view and a complete kitchen. Everything was supplied, so we didn't need a thing. We only stayed a short time this time, but it'd be great for a longer stay. It's in a great location. Highly recommend.

We visited The Haus in October during peak leaf season, and the area was beautiful. Right on Mirror Lake, the property has a spectacular view, and our room came with a private porch. It was spacious with a full kitchen and a ski-lodge feel. The location was perfect for shopping and dining, with cute, quaint shops just outside in either direction and a great bakery across the street. There are lovely mountain hikes and scenic wooded trails nearby, and apparently you can walk all the way around Mirror Lake. Even just driving around, the whole area oozed charm. Parking was the main inconvenience. The Haus has no lot, and the free overnight lot, which requires a tag in your window, was about half a block away. Street parking right outside was free from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., but cost money during the day. One night a week, the free lot was closed, so you had to move the car by 8 a.m. This wasn't a deal breaker, but it was tricky for us, especially since my husband sometimes has trouble walking. There was also a long flight of stairs to our room. I couldn't get the shower water to a comfortable temperature, it was always cold or scalding. There was a nice one-person jacuzzi tub, though. They were understaffed, but had a good supply of essentials in the hallway if you ran out of shampoo, soap, or toilet paper. All in all, a beautiful place to stay in a beautiful town.

For our honeymoon, my husband and I stayed here and found an incredible view from our room. We loved how cozy it was and enjoyed the amenities. They left a sweet card, balloons, and a small bottle of wine to celebrate. The location was awesome, right in the middle of everything, and we had no trouble with the parking pass. We'll come back next time we're in Lake Placid!

We loved our midweek July 2024 getaway at The Haus. Suite 8 is on the third floor and requires walking up, but it had everything we needed. From the private balcony, we had the best seats for the village's Tuesday night live music in the park next door. The lake view from the unit is amazing. We'll be back.
