Green Gables Inn

The rooms are fairly clean, though a little outdated, and the breakfast is actually pretty good. It runs from 6 to 9, and there’s a pool too. I’ve stayed here twice and love it. The woman at the front with the accent is wonderful. When our TV volume gave us trouble, she came right over to help. Great for family trips or traveling on your own.

The hotel was nice and quiet, even though it’s just off US 27, and the Wi-Fi was great. The room was decent, but the bathroom plumbing could be better. The water suddenly went from hot to scalding, which really caught me off guard. I practically yelled, “Aye Carumba!” We came to FL during Christmas week, and the hotel gave us a very reasonable weekly rate. I’d looked at other hotels, and their prices were all extremely high. I have mixed feelings about the pet fee being charged per night. I understand a fee per pet, but not per night. The owner was nice and cut the charge in half, so instead of nearly $300 we paid about half that. I appreciate the break, but still don’t understand the nightly pet fee. That charge is why I gave three stars. The stay itself was fine, and we slept well during the week.

This is my new go-to for a cheap getaway. It’s quiet, the rooms are super clean, and the A/C gets ice cold. They have Direct TV with tons of good channels too. We’ll definitely return.

We couldn’t stay the night in those conditions, and because of the no-refund policy we lost our money. We’d booked through Expedia for $82 a night, thinking it was a hotel, but when we arrived there was a sign saying Motel. We decided to give it a chance, then found dead roaches in the bathroom, brown water from the faucet, and beds that smelled like body odor. The microwave, lamps, and walls were stained too.
