Holiday Inn Express Lake Wales N-Winter Haven by IHG

Breakfast was a real plus, with plenty of hot choices like eggs, bacon, sausage and gravy, pancakes, and oatmeal. The coffee was good, and the dining area was clean. Our room was spacious and tidy too. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel if you need somewhere in the area.

We were here while caring for my daughter after her ACL surgery, and Richard and Randy made check-in easy. They paid attention to what we needed, and the staff were the best part of the stay. The hotel was super clean and nice. Breakfast was really good too, even though there was no bacon.

The location is the only thing this place has going for it. I arrived late, so I didn’t notice until morning that the bathroom had ants and the bed covers were stained. When I called the front desk, the woman, who may be the manager, immediately gave me attitude. Nobody came up after about ten minutes, so I went downstairs to find out what they were going to do. A worker went into my room without me and beyond the bathroom, then put garbage bags on the bed where my belongings were. The front desk woman was rude and resistant again when I raised it. Terrible hotel and service. It’s a shame, since the people working when I checked in were actually nice.

The only issue I can think of was the breakfast timing. I had to be at the job site by 6:30, and that’s when breakfast started. The place itself was beautiful, and the young man at the desk was very pleasant. Check-in went smoothly.
