The water park and horseback riding were the highlights for us, and the kids had a great time at the water park. We stayed at Westgate in our camper in June, when it’s extremely hot. Many activities had very limited hours, opening at 10 or noon and closing by 4. The Cowboy Adventure Park was only open noon to 6 in June, and most of it isn’t shaded, so we couldn’t do it even though the kids really wanted to. The kids’ “activity kit” was just a coloring sheet and crayons. Everything costs an outrageous amount, from food and the general store to golf cart rentals, so bring your own food unless you want to spend a crazy amount. The fishing pond is very small, with no fish and a couple of gators, so be wary. The best parts were the water park and seeing the animals. We’d probably come back just for those.

We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already excited to plan another visit. Everything about our stay at Westgate River Ranch Rodeo was incredible, from the welcoming staff to the beautiful surroundings. It felt like a peaceful, scenic western getaway, and the activities were so well coordinated that we could enjoy them without feeling rushed. There was a great mix of adventure and relaxation, from horseback riding and other outdoor activities to the water park, where there’s a great pool for adults too. The rodeo show was a lively, authentic highlight we’ll talk about for a long time. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beyond what we expected from a ranch-style experience. Every meal felt thoughtfully prepared and added to the charm of the trip.

The way Vicki treated our twin 6-year-old daughters meant the most to us. She was so kind, patient, and loving, and made them feel welcome and important throughout our stay. They absolutely adored her, and she clearly has a special way of connecting with people of every age. A huge thank you to Vicki for making our family camping trip this weekend so special. She was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, always ready to help with anything we needed. Her positive attitude and genuine care for guests really stood out.

My 6-year-old son had such a fun time, and there are activities for all ages, including the little ones. My favorite was the Swamp Buggy. We were lucky to get a chatty, funny guide, and we laughed a lot! My husband tried the shooting range for the first time and said his instructor was great, which helped him really enjoy it. The café was the one thing I didn’t love. Even with the Starbucks brand, the quality, service, and price left a bit to be desired. It didn’t affect our experience overall, though. The pizza and burger from the poolside food truck were delicious. We had days full of fun, and I’d recommend it to everyone. Hope to come back soon!

A beautiful resort with lots to do, and a great place to enjoy with family. The rodeo was so much fun, and the water park is a must if you have kids. Special thanks to loucious for bringing Wes T gator 🐊 to life. Taking pictures with the resort’s sherif was one of my family’s favorite memories.
