TownePlace Suites by Marriott Lakeland

The hotel is tucked off the main road, near the highway and all kinds of shops and places. The front desk staff were friendly. My room was average, but it had a fridge, dishwasher, and mini stove. The bathroom was average too, and could use more towel bars or hooks. Breakfast was the usual continental spread, with a waffle maker. One morning they also had tasty mini egg quiche. The outdoor fire pit was popular in the evening. The pool is small, seemed unused, and had a lot of dead bugs in it.

They've recently renovated, and there's plenty of space. The bedroom is separate from the living room, where the couch has a pull-out sleeper bed. The free breakfast was solid too, with the usual items and a waffle iron.

We stayed one night and charged our Tesla here, which was convenient. I liked how spacious the room was, with its mini kitchen and full-size fridge. Breakfast was included, though I couldn't really enjoy it. I brought a bagel to toast, but there was no butter at the time, so I had to use cream cheese instead.

I filed a complaint with Marriott, but they couldn't reach the general manager either. I'm a Marriott Silver Elite member, and this is the worst service I've had at any Marriott. I was promised a manager would call the next day, then the assistant manager I spoke to blamed me and said the general manager would contact me. Seven days have passed and nobody has called. I'll update this if the manager responds and the refund is issued. I'm only asking for my money back because of their error. My reservation was mishandled: I was charged for the wrong night and there was no room for the night I had actually booked. Staff said “reservations” had changed my date, but what they called a change was a charge for a no-show caused by their own error. Their behavior was hostile and unprofessional. My young daughter even asked, “Why is that lady yelling at Mommy?” This is unacceptable, especially for loyal Marriott members.
