Woodspring Suites Lakeland

The staff were amazing, kind-hearted, and understanding, and the hotel was really clean. After three days straight on the road, it felt great to finally lie down in a bed. There's a 24/7 laundry room on site, and it's pet-friendly too. Making the reservation through the call center was a little tricky at first, but we figured it out. I'll definitely spread the word about this great place!

The room we got after returning to the front desk had a smaller bed than expected and a kitchenette with burners that didn't work. We'd asked about hair dryers when checking in and got a response along the lines of, “No, why would we have those?” Earlier, while we were checking in, another person said their card wasn't working. The desk person asked only for their room number and reprogrammed it, without any form of verification. Then our key card worked, but the door wouldn't open because it was locked from the inside. We'd been given someone else's room. The front desk person checked that the next room was empty before giving it to us. The first-floor halls smelled unpleasantly different every few feet, like wet dog, then smoke, then more wet dog. We booked through the Extended Stay America website, and after this experience we'll never stay at an Extended Stay America property again.

The front desk guy was nice, but they close the desk, so I'm not sure how late check-ins work. The whole hotel smelled awful, strongly of mildew, and my room smelled so bad that I was glad the window opened a crack so I could breathe better. There were lots of roaches. The sheets on one bed had several different hairs on them, and the towels had hairs and other random things too. The remote had dried, moldy food on it, like it had never been cleaned. The floor was greasy.

I stayed here for about a month, and the place is full of crackheads. The vending machines are out of order, and the coin machine for the washer and dryer doesn't work. People keep smoking in their rooms even though it's clearly supposed to be smoke-free, and all you can smell is weed. The management is ridiculous and threatens people over dogs. Cops show up every few days because another crackhead has done something. The sheets and towels are stained and dirty too. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to stay.
