Lakeview Lodge Motel

This is easily the worst place I’ve ever stayed. The toilet still had urine in it when I arrived, there was mold all along the baseboards, and the smell was horrible. I checked under the bed and didn’t see bedbugs, but who knows. Keep driving and stay somewhere else.

I tried spending my money at a local motel to support the local economy, and wish I’d just stayed at the Best Western. This was the worst motel stay I’ve had. There was dirt and pubic hair in the bathtub, holes in the walls, and dirt all over the floor. I couldn’t get a video to load, but the shower head kept running even when I tried to take a bath. There was so much rust in the tub that the water looked dirty.

The people running the place were so nice that they made the stay doable, but the motel itself is very old, run-down, and badly needs an upgrade. If it were mine, I’d tear down half the rooms and rebuild, then do the other half as soon as possible. This property needs a real rebuild, not just a facelift.

We liked being able to walk from the hotel to get something to eat, and felt safe on the streets and around the neighborhood. The front desk guy was super nice, and the rooms were fine, good even. They’d been remodeled. My husband notices details, and he didn’t think the workmanship was great, but we weren’t paying a rate that called for amazing craftsmanship either.
