Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Golden/Denver West

We did a lot of plumbing work for this hotel, and six months later we still haven’t been paid. Management blocks our number and ignores our emails. The front desk hasn’t been helpful in connecting us with anyone else, and corporate says they “can’t” share the owner’s information. Bad business! I’m sure guests don’t get to stay and then decide not to pay.

For the price, you get what you pay for. The room was tiny and badly in need of updates, but the bed and pillows surprised me with how comfortable they were. The staff were super nice, too. If I could rate those separately, they’d get five stars. Everything else was okay.

We woke up ready to leave, but complications with the manager meant we were charged for another night. I wasn’t happy about the extra charge, though I accepted it because at least we wouldn’t have to stay there any longer. Paying for two nights after one night because the rooms were dirty doesn’t seem right. The hotel is old and showing its age. I would not recommend it. Our first room hadn’t been cleaned properly: stains on the sheets and bed skirt, dust all over the bathroom fan, and floors that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. They quickly gave us another room, but it was dusty throughout and had stained sheets too. Since it was late, we counted our losses and stayed the night.

My key card kept stopping working, and the ice machine was leaking. There was also a lot of traffic noise and dust. The maids were nice, but there seemed to be too many rooms and too few staff. The first room had a torn couch, disgusting carpet, and a rank smell. They kindly moved me to a “nicer” room, but the surfaces were so smeared I had to wipe down everything in the room and bathroom before I felt comfortable. The room phone didn’t work either.
