Holiday Inn Denver Lakewood by IHG

After a decade of staying at IHG hotels several times a month for business, this is the first place that's earned a negative review from me. I won't return. The mattress was lumpy and so uncomfortable that it was the first time I've had a mattress problem at Holiday Inn. I specifically asked for enough bedding and towels but wasn't given them. Breakfast wasn't included because I'd used IHG rewards points for a discounted rate, and I was charged an extra $50 for it. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night for 20 minutes, without an explanation, apology, or evacuation. I also had to pay $2 for a replacement toothbrush. Forgetting mine was my fault, but this was the first IHG hotel where I've been charged for an item that's normally complimentary.

The restaurant had lots of choices and the food tasted really good. My room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Everyone I dealt with on staff was polite and friendly. I recommend staying here, and I'll be back myself.

That restaurant was a real surprise, since you don't usually expect much from a hotel breakfast. Robin served us and was the best server of our whole trip, friendly and great at her job. She also suggested some local hotspots. The hotel was clean and the staff helpful. Great stay, and great job, Holiday Inn team.

We were only in town for a few days, but I'd recommend this hotel for anyone staying in or near Lakewood. The staff were all friendly. Deserre was very nice when we checked in, and our room was clean and new. The breakfast staff were great too, including our waitresses Jen and Madison.
