Lakewood Lodge

I was only visiting for a couple of days and the other places we tried weren’t up to par, so I went looking for a good local steak. I found it here. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly.

The waitress was nice, but the food wasn’t good and the atmosphere was poor. The plates and glasses were dirty, too, and the bar beside the dining area was very loud.

The steak was cooked just right, and the waitress and bartender were terrific. I finished the night with peanut butter pie. A nice steak dinner.

I needed somewhere pet friendly near an event, and Lakewood Lodge fit what I was looking for. The room was simple, spacious, very clean, and had everything I needed. I’d worried about finding food because the area is fairly remote, but there’s a charming restaurant attached to the hotel. The staff at both the hotel and restaurant made the stay. Everyone I met was welcoming and helpful, and they went out of their way for me. I have a food allergy, and they checked everything to help keep me safe. They were also lovely with my dog. Experiences like that make me glad small independent hotels are still around.
