Candlewood Suites - Lancaster West by IHG

Cathy at the front desk had a great attitude, and there were plenty of towels, utensils, and plates. The room was spacious, but not clean. The shelves were dusty, and both pillowcases and sheets had visible, unpleasant stains. Some looked like they could have been bleached out, while others had a texture that made me wonder how well the sheets had been washed. There’s a great bagel place within walking distance, plus a fish store that’s almost like a free aquarium. This place could be really nice if they added more cleaning staff.

There’s no quiet time for guests here. Kids and other people ran up and down the halls at all hours, and there didn’t seem to be staff around to stop anything. People were yelling, and someone was setting off fireworks in the parking lot. The walls are so thin that you can hear neighbors talking or using the toilet. This was the worst place I’ve stayed. It needs better walls, a remodel, and better staff.

For anyone traveling solo on business, this is a great spot. The kitchenette has a good amount of what you need to make food, and the location seems safe and is pretty quiet. The staff are friendly, and there’s a small shop selling snacks, laundry detergent, and other things. Highly recommend.

I come here whenever I visit family in Lancaster. The rooms may be a little dated, but they’re clean and spacious, and the full kitchens are really convenient. They’re well worth the price. Staff are friendly and courteous.
