DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Lancaster

The location is decent and seems to draw people who want to golf. The unfinished rooms are still dated. As of this visit, work was continuing on floors 4 and 5, with floor 5 closed. I’d consider coming back once the renovations are complete. Things were better than during my first stay in 2023, when they were renovating the lobby and a wedding was loud and disruptive until 10 p.m. Breakfast was set up in a conference room with makeshift tables and chairs, which was a strange experience. This time the lobby was finished, modern, and nice-looking. The restaurant was done and clean, and the breakfast silverware was clean and relatively new.

The location and hotel are beautiful, and the staff and service were great. The pool chlorine was so strong it burned my throat just being in the air. I also wish the room A/C could be set below 68 degrees.

The bed was comfortable, the room was adequate, and the fresh cookies were delightful. It’s a decent hotel with some nice amenities, especially for families: a good-sized pool, a play area for little kids, a small arcade, and a fitness center. There’s also a morning buffet with omelets made to order. There was construction on the fourth floor, which some people have complained about. One hassle was having to go up two floors to find an ice machine. After housekeeping cleaned our room, they hadn’t replaced the coffee or cups, so we had to ask.

The staff member at the desk was extremely helpful when I went back after seeing my room. They found me one with windows facing outside and upgraded me at no extra charge. I’d booked a room with windows facing the interior courtyard without realizing it wouldn’t get natural light, and I wish the booking process had made that clearer. On the hotel's room selection map, rooms in the interior section face the indoor courtyard. They get little to no natural light and may have some noise from activities there.
