Residence Inn by Marriott Lancaster

We spent almost four months as long-term guests at the Residence Inn in Lancaster, and the hotel is very well managed. Manager Jeremy Geib runs a tight ship. The staff were outstanding, especially at the front desk, where they paid attention to details and followed through on requests. Housekeeping did a very good job, and when we had a reasonable cleaning request, they handled it right away. Maintenance also fixed issues that came up, usually the same day. Breakfast was always good, and we ate there most weekends. After such a long stay, I can't recommend this hotel enough. If you're coming to Lancaster, this is the place to stay.

I was disappointed as soon as I arrived because the hotel looked dirty. In our studio, my daughter opened the sofa bed and found it dirty, with a used inhaler and a mattress cover that still looked like it had the last guest's funk on it. There were open coffee packets left around the coffee machine, and the bathroom ceiling light was very dusty. I complained to management right away. Mark said housekeeping had left at 4 and offered me points. Breakfast was below standard too, and the bread was old. I strongly recommend not staying here. 2/18/26 Follow-up: I spoke with the housekeeping manager, who said he would add 5,000 points to my Marriott rewards. Mark added those points, and I received the other points too. Smh!!!!!

The location was handy, just minutes from lots of restaurants, with a Wegmans in a plaza within walking distance. We stayed Tuesday through Thursday and had a great time. Breakfast was pretty good, with hot choices like eggs and sausage, plus yogurt, fruit, and bagels. I also really liked the huge TV in the room and the blackout curtains. I'd happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The indoor pool being closed for maintenance throughout our stay was disappointing. It was a big part of our staycation plan, especially in winter when I was counting on it to keep the kids busy. We stayed in and watched a lot of TV instead. I wish we'd been told before arriving. That said, the room had a homey apartment feel that I loved, and the full-size fridge, kitchen sink, and mini stove were especially useful with kids. Breakfast was great, with a nice variety that changed a little each day. The location was also great, close to downtown Lancaster, a big mall, and plenty of stores and restaurants. I'd definitely return, but next time I'll double-check that the pool is open first. I'd never stayed at a Residence Inn before, but now I'll aim for one in the future.
