Days Inn Lancaster PA Dutch Country

There were 16 of us women on the trip, spread across four rooms, and none of our floors seemed to have been cleaned before we arrived. My friend’s white socks turned black underneath. Crumbs were left on the black bed platforms, and the little decorative foot covers were stained and looked like they hadn’t been washed between guests. The sheets had yellow marks and that crinkly, uncomfortable texture. Blankets were paper-thin, each bed had only three pillows, and when we asked for extras, we were told there weren’t any. Our room had wires sticking out where a smoke detector should have been. Breakfast was a joke, and the vending machine was very expensive. All 16 of us agreed we wouldn’t stay here again. There are plenty of other places nearby, so do yourself a favor and pick one of them.

Sight & Sound Theater was conveniently close, which we appreciated. We booked in May at the last minute because someone in our group had a tight budget and few options. The price was reasonable, but the property needs renovations. It didn’t seem or look very clean when we came in. Our room was okay, though the tub had a permanent stain, and you could still see signs of a leak in the bathroom.

It’s a fair discount hotel. The room was clean, and the beds were acceptable, though not especially comfortable. The toilet clogged, and when I asked the front desk around 10 a.m., they said maintenance wouldn’t arrive for another hour or two. I asked for a plunger and sorted it out myself.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and I slept well. Our room looked recently renovated, with clean, working appliances and lights. The walk-in shower was modern and exceptionally clean. For the price, this Days Inn makes an effort, and it’s near shops, tourist spots, and the Sight and Sound Theater. Breakfast was limited, though, and the mini muffins were a little stale. I wouldn’t pay another $5 or $10 a night just to get fresh fruit and a Belgian waffle maker. Those things are gross anyway.
