The fire alarm went off throughout the property at 4am. I called the front desk and could tell they were scrambling. I heard someone on the overnight team ask if their Vape might have set it off. About 20 minutes later, the Fire Dept. arrived and shut it off. I was left with just two hours of sleep before I could get OUT of there. My booked room wasn’t available when I arrived, and I was offered a $10 discount that I never received. I might not have cared as much if the room I got on the 2nd floor hadn’t smelled of Marijuana. It was dirty and had a musty, stagnant odor besides the weed. There were crumbs in the drawers, as shown in my photo, and the bedding was off-white. I was just driving I-80 Cross country and needed a place to sleep, but I should’ve driven farther to another Hilton property. Bring your own Lysol and sleep on top of the bedding if you stay here. Even on a budget or just passing through for the night, book down the road in South bend.

The rooms are a decent size, and the hotel looks newly renovated. Still, the bed wasn’t very comfortable, there was no curtain, and the sun made the room bright as soon as it came up. Highway noise carried all night. They also seemed to struggle to find reservations and check people in.

The pond is beautiful, and the staff were the best part of my stay. They were very kind and accommodating. The room and carpet are wearing out, though, and my carpet needs a deep clean. The hotel floors were very dirty, as was the pool floor, which is also the only way to reach the patio. I used to clean homes, so I know the effort it takes, but it still needs doing. My room closet was full of dead bugs, and the whole property needs a thorough cleaning. You may want to buy some supplies to clean your own room. The bed was so hard it hurt my ribs and left me sore. I’m paying a lot to stay here, and don’t appreciate waking up that way. I understand a hard bed saves the owner from replacing it as often, but guests pay for comfort. On weekends, sketchy people show up. It’s one of the cheaper Hilton options for a reason. There are worse places to stay, but I don’t feel this is worth the money.

Our room was ready when we arrived on the way to South Bend, and it was clean. The sink and shower water worked great, and breakfast was very good. I’d definitely stay again.
