Americas Best Value Inn Laramie

Our client ended up leaving and booking his own room at the Holiday Inn after finding dirty sheets and bed bugs under the mattress cover. He had to be up at 4 a.m. to hunt, so moving motels was a huge disruption. He tried to get someone at the desk to move him, but nobody came out. We regularly book our out-of-state hunting clients at America’s Best Value Inn, and when we called right away, the person who answered was rude, argued with us, offered no apology, and refused a refund. As local business owners, we'd never treat a client that way. I can't recommend this motel.

The room had a fridge and microwave, the AC worked well, and the water pressure and temperature were the best I've had at a hotel in years. My two kids and I were there for one night during college graduation, when I was worried everywhere would be booked. Check-in turned out to be quick and easy, and we were greeted with a smile. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It seems updated since the older reviews I read, while still keeping some older charm. There are structural repairs needed, but they seem to be maintaining and improving the place. We left very happy.

The bed was comfortable, and the TV and microwave both worked. But the steep stairs and carpet that looks like it's from the 60s or 70s make the place feel due for a remodel. At $100 a night, I didn't think it was worth it.

After a 15-hour drive, my husband and I stopped for one night. The room was okay, but we never got back the $50 deposit they said would be returned the next day. When we left at 5:30 a.m., the office was empty, so we left the key in the basket. Since then, they haven't answered when I've called to ask about the money. The night started with an extra $50 charged on top of the room rate, and it wasn't worth it. The shower was leaking into the room below, so the office person knocked while I was getting out and came in to fix it. He didn't stay long.
