Baymont by Wyndham Laredo

Really good stay. The guy at the front was nice and chill with us, and the rooms were really clean. We had a pretty view outside, including of my vehicle. It's also perfect because it's close to the gas station and several restaurants.

I've stayed at this hotel for years, but now it's gotten really infested with roaches. Every room I've been given has had them. A guy came and killed one, then three more showed up later that day. The next day, while I was getting ready for work, one was hiding by my shoes and ran when I picked them up. I didn't arrive with roaches, and I don't want to leave with them.

For a quick stop and somewhere to sleep, this place works pretty well. There's an HEB across the highway, and if the small lot is full, there's overflow parking on the road beside the hotel. The first-floor rooms seemed to have outside access, while the remaining five or six floors, I think, had interior access. It felt more like a working man's hotel than a destination, and the room was small with a stiff platform bed and no box spring. The pool looked alright, though I don't think there was a hot tub. Showers didn't have the soap and shampoo dispensers you see in other hotels, at least in my room. Breakfast was continental, with cereal and fruit, and waffles as the only hot food I saw. The breakfast area was cramped and really small. I'm a diamond level member, but didn't get the usual bag with waters and a snack. It's an alright hotel, nothing earth shattering. La Quinta down the road is newer, and I probably should have stayed there.

The receptionists were friendly, and breakfast was fine, though the employee looking after it seemed annoyed. The rooms were pretty clean, and the bathroom was good, but the baths looked old. For a budget hotel it's not too bad. Updating the hallways would make the whole place feel much better.
