We come here whenever we're in Clearwater to sail, and we've recommended it to a friend. She brought her whole family and loved it too. It's a great family spot, with food and shops all around and beaches not far away. The hotel is in the middle of the city but set back from the big roads and local traffic, so our nights have been quiet. The rooms have proper full size fridges, not little mini ones, which is a nice touch. Joe, the front desk manager, is incredibly caring and knows us by name. His warm welcome makes us feel at home here and in Clearwater. We'll be back soon.

Everything was clean and organized, and the rates were reasonable enough that I'd gladly come back. There's a pool, a gym open all day and night, and useful extras you don't often get at a hotel, including full kitchens, a refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast each morning was warm with lots of choices. The location also worked well, within 30 minutes of many attractions and parks.

I checked in around 11 p.m. after a long day of driving, already exhausted. I asked the clerk to add my rewards points to my Honors account, and she got a bit sharp with me, saying she couldn't because I booked through AAA. That's never happened to me before. Hilton, really, your system can't update points for someone standing there after paying to stay at your hotel? It felt like a pretty basic digital task. Maybe she saw my face, because she then said she'd ask the day manager, since she didn't know how. Then I found out the lot was being torn up and full, so I had to park at 5guys next door. The only exception she mentioned was the rarely used premium space for people with handicap plates. At 11 p.m. and tired, that was not what I wanted to hear. The room itself was decent, though the bed wasn't as comfortable as one at Marriott. Nothing special. When I checked out a couple of days later, the manager said there was no problem with the Honors points and he'd seen the note. I went next door, got my car, loaded up, and left. For the price, it's okay, but it could use new carpet, a more considerate customer service approach, a better bed, and some kind of discount for the inconvenience. I only wrote this because Hilton emailed me asking for a review. I clicked two stars for the hassles, but a pop-up claimed my chance to review had expired, even though the stay was less than two weeks earlier. That seems like a way to keep ratings high. Hilton, you're bugging me. If you don't want dumb reviews on Google, stop hassling customers, fix the Honors points system, and stop trying to push people into good reviews. Have a nice day.

The rooms are clean and it's a great place to stay. The shower barely had any water pressure, though the other faucets were fine.
