I wouldn’t stay here again. The AC in the room didn’t work, and the shower made a very loud whistling sound whenever it was on. The walls were thin enough that I could hear the person in the next room snoring. The property also felt very dated and in need of major updates, so the stay didn’t match what I expected when I booked.

I would like to return, and I hope the place improves in quality and style, perhaps with cleaner staff. The resort used to be nice, I think, but it’s large, spread out, and divided across different properties, which makes it hard to find your way around. My bigger concern was getting help. Staff seemed to take their jobs to an extreme and weren’t easy to approach or talk to as a guest. I had several questions and issues, but finding someone or management to help was difficult, especially with the high daily rates. The pool and hot tub weren’t working. When I tried to use the gym a few times, the timing didn’t suit the staff on duty and they asked me to come back later. I also had trouble getting hygiene products and things for the room. They would clean it but didn’t leave cleaning products for guests to use.

I chose Club De Soleil because it was the least expensive, and it was good value. I’d probably stay again now that I know what to expect, and I’d recommend it if you’re not too picky. The rooms were clean and comfortable overall, though dated, with 90s decor, and some parts and hallways were dingy from age without being gross. It’s a no-smoking property, but I smelled marijuana in the hallway when I arrived. I complained the next day, but don’t know if anything was done. The neighbor played country music loudly, though it stopped after about 20 minutes. The area seemed relatively safe; I saw two homeless people and no sketchy characters. Staff weren’t unfriendly, just rather uninterested and not very helpful. The person checking me in didn’t make me feel welcome. They didn’t mention the free shuttle to Excalibur and other stops when I asked about an airport shuttle. When I asked them to call me a cab, the young man said I should call myself because the company gets mad at them for calling. At checkout around 2 a.m., I asked how long cabs usually take, and the clerk just shrugged and said, “Not really.”

I stayed for a week and added four days because of work, nothing shady or gambling-related. I expected fair treatment and clear billing, but didn’t get either. I paid a $200 deposit and $181 for the initial stay, then was charged another $181 to extend by five days, on top of the ongoing room charges. The charges weren’t clearly explained and felt arbitrary, especially with plenty of rooms available. Jessica was extremely unprofessional when I asked for help and refused to connect me with a manager. Her attitude made me feel like a nuisance instead of a guest. I’m considering raising the issue with the Better Business Bureau or other consumer protection resources if it isn’t addressed.
