Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Las Vegas

Nearly $400 for two nights by the highway felt wildly expensive. The HVAC was awful: I had to choose between a cold, quiet room and a comfortable but noisy one. I think I actually caught a cold during those two nights. I won’t stay again.

I’ve stayed here for over a decade, mostly because of the location and the lack of options, but the place has gone downhill over the years. It seems like whoever owns this HI Express location in Las Vegas New Mexico is trying to cut costs. My sheets hadn’t been changed. I didn’t realize until 3 am, when I saw feces left on them by a previous guest. Disgusting. After that I slept in my truck, so I ended up paying to sleep in my own vehicle. I’m done staying here.

For a road trip stop, this was a great stay. We got extra time to check out when we asked, and Sangita at the front desk was so sweet. She even gave my 2.5 year old snacks for the drive. The staff were all kind and helpful, and the rooms and the whole facility were very clean and well kept. Breakfast was great too. We travel a lot, and this was easily the best Holiday Inn we’ve stayed at. Thank you!

The staff were friendly, and breakfast was decent. But the place looks old, with scratches and dents all over, and the very outdated key card readers kept failing. Our room had a lot of empty space and not even a chair or anything useful to fill it. They charge as if this were a top-tier hotel, which was disappointing for an aging property in the middle of nowhere. It was okay, but the price felt far too high.
