The free breakfast was fine, and the bar was open on the last two nights. The bartender there was very nice. That’s about the extent of the good parts of this stay. I’ve been a Marriott customer forever, but that didn’t seem to count for much here. Check-in started badly, with a staff member rolling his eyes and scoffing at me. The room was supposed to have a pull-out couch, but it couldn’t be opened because the nightstand was drilled to the wall. We explained this downstairs and got another, larger room. It was called an upgrade, though it had a queen bed instead of a king. The key card wouldn’t open the new room on the fourth floor. Staff told me to pull the handle up instead of down, as though we should have known. It took a very hard pull to get it open. The couch bed did work, but there were no sheets, blankets, or pillows. We called down, waited an hour until around 10 pm, then went downstairs to get the bedding ourselves. I contacted the front desk and corporate and got the runaround. I asked to cancel the remaining two nights after the first, but they wouldn’t allow it because I’d booked a “non refundable rate.” So we had to stay. Our room wasn’t cleaned during the rest of the visit. On the last day, staff said we hadn’t asked for service. Then a cleaning staff member opened our door without knocking, thinking someone from housekeeping was in there. It was just us, and the room still hadn’t been cleaned. Marriott has gone downhill, and this property is an embarrassment to the name. A bad stay can be made better by good service, but poor service made this one an easy one-star rating. With so many choices in Las Vegas, I wouldn’t stay here again.
