Travelodge by Wyndham Las Vegas NM

The walls were so thin we could hear the neighbors walking around nonstop, even though we were on a single level. We pulled things off the bed to check for bed bugs because you never know. The room was dirty all over: hair on the fitted sheet and blankets that looked unchanged, makeup stains on a pillowcase, dirt on the floor, and things left in the fridge. It smelled like smoke as soon as we entered, and the cheap coffee pot was broken. The rubber strip on the tub was coming off too, along with material on the lower walls. We reported it to the desk clerk that night around 8 and again at 7 the next morning. She looked half-awake, wasn't presentable, looked dirty, and didn't seem to care. We also saw no breakfast, despite it being advertised on the motel sign. We took pictures, but there was no option to post them with this review. Horrible place to stay.

Maria, the manager, was amazing. It's an older hotel, but the room was clean and nicely set up. The door didn't close all the way, though it did lock and had a security chain. I'd stay again.

Getting around without a car was a problem. There are no taxis, Uber or Lyft, and even a reserved ride has about a 99% chance of being cancelled a minute before pickup. With a car, though, this small town has the usual places to eat, rest, fuel up, and shop, so Travelodge works well. Maria, the manager, went out of her way to make sure our stay went smoothly and we had what we needed. The coffee was so damn good and available all day and night. Our smoking room barely smelled of smoke, and the airflow was great even with smoking by the door and the window cracked open. Maria also said to remember not to keep your phone and room key in the same pocket. I'd stay here again if I'm in the area.

The whole property was disgusting, and the room was filthy. The beds had hair on them, and the floor didn't look like it had been cleaned in ages. When we arrived, the front desk clerk and some guy were watching TV in the room we'd reserved. The clerk was cursing and acting out of sorts during check-in. Avoid this roach motel. I'd give it zero stars if I could.
