The shower was the one thing I liked. It was very large and easy to walk into. The rest of our stay was disappointing, and I wouldn’t return. We paid $100 a night for two nights, Monday and Tuesday, for a king bed in a handicap room. The mattresses were so firm that my husband and I were sore for days. The front desk woman wasn’t sympathetic when I told her and wouldn’t give me extra pillows to help. The “free” breakfast was disgusting: the cheese omelette was cold and gross, and the pastries were old and nasty. It wasn’t worth going downstairs for. The staff were rude. Since this is a new hotel, I’d hoped the stay would be great, but it wasn’t.

After a nine-hour drive from NYC to South Carolina, we were looking for somewhere to rest and found the Holiday Inn Express in Latta. Gale got us a room right away, and Amy was pleasant to talk with and helpful. We had a wonderful day yesterday and would stay here again. Thanks, ladies.

The room was clean, but several things fell short. There were no towel bars for hanging used towels, and the toilet paper holder was coming loose from the wall. The wall thermostat didn’t work at all, so we had to adjust the temperature on the wall unit instead. The carpet near that unit was wet, as if it had been leaking. The TV remote also didn’t work properly, a poorly programmed replacement.

The room was clean and well appointed, and the lobby was tidy and well kept. The friendly staff at check-in made us feel at home as soon as we walked in. We’ll make this our regular stop along this travel route. Thank you!

I called today to ask about rates and availability for 26 rooms, but they only allow bookings of up to 15. That part was fine, though the conversation felt really weird. This hotel isn’t friendly to motor coaches or travel tours.
