Plunge Beach Resort

The people who made my five-night stay comfortable deserve a thank you. Jasmine at the front desk put in a lot of effort to help and always had the warmest smile. Suzette at the desk was a dear, Kent was a real gentleman, AJ at the coffee shop made the best cappuccino I had each morning, and Bianca at Octopus resto. was great. I really liked the avocado toast for breakfast. Eugene, the new bellman, was friendly and helpful too. One front desk woman with glasses was rude, moody, and never smiled. Her name might start with Mar--. Being kind to guests matters in that job; there's no need to be rude. The team at Backflip resto on the beach was great as well. The food was good, happy hour was fun, and the wings were the best. The room was fine, though I was surprised and disappointed there was no basic coffee machine. I travel quite a bit, and there's always one. There wasn't a microwave either. Be aware that 'resort view' may mean a view of parked cars and the parking area. My first room had a depressing view, but after two days I got a higher floor with a better view and more sunlight, which helped.

We've been coming here for more than a decade and always book a king ocean view room. This stay was planned months ahead as a 50th birthday gift. When we arrived, an hour before we needed to leave for a show, Julio directed us to a room that wasn't on the beach and didn't have the full ocean view we'd booked. I showed him the confirmation email from October 2025 for the beachfront full ocean view King. He said that building was under renovation. That's a major letdown, especially since they had four months to call us. Julio was nice about it, though, and gave us five free drink cards and four breakfast cards. He also lowered the room rate to match the room we stayed in. We missed our usual full ocean view. From this room we could see the building in front, with the ocean on either side in the foreground, and dumpsters below. We'll be back when the ocean-side building is finished. We have a photo from July 2022 of the view we booked and one from March 2026 of what we got.

A good night's sleep matters most to me at a hotel, and Plunge gets that right. We can control the A/C ourselves, the beds are comfortable, and little things like water bottles at the bar are a nice touch. Stepping straight out to the beach and getting good coffee at "Bean and Barnacle" makes for a lovely sunrise. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is a cozy town with good restaurants and everything you need. I've stayed at Plunge several times and am always happy with it, especially the kind, helpful staff who do what they can to make the stay comfortable. I'd highly recommend it and am already looking forward to coming back.

I've stayed at Plunge Beach resort several times during 2025, and it's been consistently good. It's right on a beautiful sandy beach in a friendly, relaxing area. The staff are genuinely welcoming and service-minded. The check-in team is efficient, warm, and always willing to go the extra mile. A special mention for the fantastic morning coffee at Bean & Barcle, one of the best ways to start the day. The beach bar fits the laid-back atmosphere perfectly. I'll definitely be back in 2026, and I'm looking forward to my first visit in January.
