Best Western Yellowstone Crossing

The shower had strong pressure and stayed plenty hot, and the Bestwestern linens were great. Breakfast was good too, especially the gravy and soft biscuits. The room had a mini fridge, wet bar, safe, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, ironing board and toiletries. There’s laundry on site for travelers, $2 per load, with one-hour wash and dry cycles. McD and TB are close by, and Albertsons is across the street. The indoor pool and hot tub looked operational, though the hot tub wouldn’t cycle bubbles and I couldn’t find pool towels. Check-in was quick. The clerk asked for my credentials, handed me a key and told us the breakfast hours. The room smelled like backed-up plumbing, or like someone had gone #2 without airing it out. I found the housecleaning clipboard under the desk, in a chair, and the chair’s right arm was ripped. The hotel information packet was loose under the TV instead of in a binder. None of that was a dealbreaker, but it felt like the details were overlooked. The clerk was outside vaping when I went to ask about the smell. She said there’d been no leaks or other issues. I handed back the clipboard and asked about water at check-in. She pointed to the rack behind me, but I meant bottled water. She asked if I was a rewards member. I said I was a diamond member, and she gave me one bottle. I couldn’t help wondering why she’d asked for my credentials if she wasn’t going to look me up when I checked in. The hotel is near railroad tracks, so train horns are audible. I’d paid on the BestWestern app for a king suite upgrade for September 26, and was extremely disappointed. Nobody’s perfect, but come on. A couple of small things I liked were the note from the cleaning team and the cute bear holding the remote. I took photos of those, the torn chair and the clipboard.

Our Labrador had a lovely green space to use, which we really appreciated. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, and Renae in the breakfast area was especially helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was awesome. When we called to reserve, they signed us up for Rewards right away so we could get any available deals. Wonderful from check-in through breakfast. Wish we could give more than five stars.

The staff were so kind and generous, and breakfast was pretty good. I was here on a business trip, and the hotel is in a nice location. There’s a McDonald’s right at the entrance, and Walmart is about a ten-minute walk away.

The manager’s a great guy and will bend over backwards for you. The rooms are clean and it’s generally quiet. This visit was annoying, though. Neighbors arrived around 10:30 pm, smoked some pot that drifted into our room, then stayed up laughing and giggling until 2. It felt like they were in our room with us. I asked the male overnight staff member to say something. He walked down the hall, didn’t hear anything at that moment, and went back to his desk. NOT impressive!!!
