Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lawton-Fort Sill by IHG

The free breakfast was really nice, and the coffee was the best I’ve had at a hotel. The rooms felt spacious, modern, and very clean, with great amenities. Staff were friendly and professional throughout. It’s been a long time since I’ve had such a good hotel stay. Couldn’t have asked for better.

The staff were nice, and breakfast had enough choices to be decent. But finding someone when I needed help was hit or miss, even at the front desk. The room was disgusting. There was trash left in both the room and bathroom, the bathroom itself was dirty, and the pullout bed had what looked like mold and stains from different colored liquids. The couch had strange white marks, and the pool was very dirty too. The hotel sits behind another hotel and next to a car dealership. Just no.

I’ve stayed at many IHG hotels as a Diamond Elite member, and this was the worst housekeeping I’ve experienced. I was on the fourth floor, and the room was dirty enough to bother me, especially with illnesses spreading between guests. I’ll let the photos show what I mean, though I couldn’t add any for some reason. Other reviews mention the same problem. They need to retrain staff on proper cleaning. There were greasy fingerprints on the microwave, sticky spots on the floor by the refrigerator, and crumbs and fuzz across badly stained floors. Dust covered the pipes under the bathroom sink and the bathroom vents, and there was pink mold in the shower. These should all come clean with some effort. Getting into the hotel was easy. I checked in online, called about an hour before check-in to ask about arriving early, and they agreed. The front desk made check-in simple and explained the WiFi password and breakfast hours. The lobby also smelled wonderful when I walked in.

Henrietta at the front desk was the standout. Her kind, caring way with my little kids set a great tone for the day, and she went out of her way to help. I’ve never met anyone as kind as her. I’d recommend this place for her alone. We had a pleasant stay and the rooms were clean, though the curtain had stains and there was mold in the shower. There wasn’t any smell.
