Candlewood Suites Layton - Salt Lake City by IHG

The staff were courteous and friendly, and we had a pleasant night in an easy-to-find spot with a good location. I've stayed with a bunch of hotel chains over the years, and Candlewood Suites was especially dog friendly. The studio layout was cozy but roomy, and clean too. I've paid a lot more for a much worse room.

The full kitchen saved me a good bit of money since I could cook instead of eating out so much. The room cost about the same as other local hotels without kitchens, and it had a full size fridge, two burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, and garbage disposal. Basic supplies were there, and the front desk could provide anything else you needed. The beds and bedding were comfortable, and the large bathroom had a nice counter, mirror, hair dryer, plus Dove body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers in the shower. Staff were wonderful, and it was close to shops, movie theatres, and restaurants. I15 was easy to reach, but far enough away not to be too noisy. A couple of things were frustrating: the windows don't open, and the TV took some figuring out. With an iPhone, AirPlay only works for Apple TV, so Netflix or Prime needs to be Cast instead. Once I figured that out, it was fine. I'll definitely stay again.

The lobby's complimentary coffee machine and the laundry machines and dryers were useful amenities. We had a one night stay in a family room with two queen beds, and it was clean, roomy, and comfortable. Great location too, and the price was good for such a pleasant stay.

There was loads of workspace and the rooms felt really spacious. Everything was very clean, and the gym was right by the desk, so I felt comfortable working out there alone as a woman. We had an amazing stay.
