Holiday Inn Express Le Claire Riverfront-Davenport by IHG

Breakfast was a treat, with oatmeal, pancakes, an egg white omelette, turkey and regular sausage, scrambled eggs, cereal, fruit, and freshly ground coffee. We ate in our room while watching sunlight sparkle on the Mississippi River. Cierra greeted us warmly at the desk and surprised us with an upgrade to a Riverview room. The hotel was spotless, and the person vacuuming in the lobby and the housekeepers on our floor were all friendly. Our room was nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and a bright, roomy bathroom. The large shower had a seat, plenty of hot water, and a great spray head. We’ll return.

We found the breakfast fresh and tasty, with lots to choose from, including biscuits and gravy, freshly cooked bacon, and big pancakes from the pancake maker. Our room had plenty of space, and the balcony looked out over the Mississippi River. The bathroom was roomy too, with a shower that had a seat. A lovely place to stop while traveling, and I’d highly recommend it for the views, amenities, and breakfast.

The train tracks behind the hotel woke us at 6 am, though we fell asleep again right away. The breakfast buffet in the lobby had good choices. We’d definitely recommend staying here. We booked during a road trip home because it’s right off I-80, and the location felt safe. The hotel was very clean, the beds comfortable, and the pool area was spacious with a hot tub and plenty of towels. Its high ceiling made it comfortable to sit and watch the kids swim without feeling stuffy.

Michelle and Tatiana were especially kind and patient with our group. Anyone who’s hosted an 8U travel team knows that’s a lot, and they really made us feel welcome. The hotel’s location and atmosphere worked great as a home base for tournament weekend, and we’d stay again. We came with a youth baseball team and their families, and the staff were accommodating from the start. Rooms were clean and comfortable for our weekend of early mornings and late games. The lobby, conference rooms, and shared spaces gave everyone somewhere to gather, talk through the day’s plays, and celebrate the boys’ wins. A very happy baseball family recommends this place.
