Luxor Inn & Suites, a Travelodge by Wyndham

Had a great weekend away with my kids. They loved the pool, and the Front Desk staff and manager were amazing, helpful, and respectful. The hotel has been beautifully remodeled, and it’s such a quiet, peaceful place to relax. Definitely where I’d stay around Elkins, and I recommend it.

The desk staff at check-in were pleasant, but I found the rest of the stay awful. There was a cockroach running across the bedside table. When I moved it to try to find and kill the bug, the unfinished, filthy area behind it was disgusting. The chair had stains all over it, and I didn’t even want to put my suitcase there, much less sit down. The bathroom was moldy, the door was badly scuffed, and the walls were dirty. They advertise the place as “remodeled,” but it looked like the cheapest update possible. The weed and skunk smell was nauseating, too. It was expensive for no reason and absolutely not worth the price.

The room was modern and very clean, and I was delighted with the renovations. I booked for the weekend of my Class reunion. The front desk staff were very polite, and we thought Luxor was good for the price. We’ll return.

I don’t recommend this hotel and will never stay here again. The bedclothes were stained, nasty, and gross, and every time we left, our keys stopped working. We booked for Feb 12-15th and paid 233.27 at the front desk. We had to check out Saturday morning because of a family emergency, but they didn’t refund us for the night we missed. They also charged another 80.97. Once we got home, I called to ask about the extra charge. The receptionist said it was because we’d only paid 157.24 at check-in, which wasn’t true. We have receipts and bank statements showing what we paid. This hotel lied and overcharged us.
