Alpen Dorf Pension

We had a front row view of the Christmas lights and decorated trees when we stayed over the holidays. The downtown location puts you right in the middle of everything, and the updated, well-kept place felt comfortable and had good amenities. You enter from the back alley, using the elevator or stairs. Noise from the busy area below does carry up to the room, and parking is a block or two away, though that wasn’t too far. A few things had been missed before we arrived, including a sanitary pad and used q-tips in the trash. Apart from that, it was clean.

The beds were especially comfortable, with lovely linens and supportive mattresses that still felt cozy. I have back problems and woke up without pain. We stayed in the two-room Annie, which was a treat. I hadn’t realized the bedrooms had no windows, so there wasn’t morning light unless we left a door open. It didn’t bother me or make me feel claustrophobic, even though I usually do. Fans under each sink were a great surprise since we need them to sleep, and we won’t have to bring our own next time. The space felt bright, airy, and luxurious, with everything we needed. Check-in and check-out were easy, and it’s right on Front street. The elevator was amazingly quiet and my four-year-old daughter loved it, though there are stairs too. We barely heard anything from the street, neighbors, or building systems. We’ll come back and plan to rent the attached Annie and Bonnie spaces together. My family has already seen the photos and wants to stay too. I’d recommend it for an immersive experience.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was wonderful. The layout was great, with a big, quiet, cozy room. We’ve only just left and are already planning our next visit. Please don’t change a thing!

Clean, comfortable, and cozy, with good parking spots included. The pension is right in downtown Leavenworth, across from the gazebo, so you can walk everywhere. It also felt Covid-19 friendly, making it a nice choice for a short getaway.
