We liked that every room had its own heat source, including the downstairs rooms. We've had trouble with that in other cabins we've rented. The house could use a few more kitchen items, like a cheese slicer and blow dryers, though I know those aren't required. The location is hard to beat: close to town, but quiet and secluded, with a nice view and a gently sloped yard. In the snow, we enjoyed watching deer in the morning and sledding during the day. They even plowed the driveway for us, and four-wheel drive wasn't needed like it is for many winter driveways. We're already planning another trip to Leavenworth Retreat!
