Best Western Premier Boulder Falls Inn

It’s a quiet, clean hotel on the edge of town, and one of the nicest Best Westerns I’ve stayed in. I’ve been to dozens. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There’s a bar and restaurant on site, though I can’t say what hours they keep. The only drawback is the location if you want to walk to shops or restaurants. Lebanon has plenty, but they’re about a mile away. That wasn’t an issue for me, just something to know if you expect to be in the middle of town.

I ended up here on a drive along the interstate after Google recommended it. Dana at check-in was lovely, shared ideas for things to do nearby, and explained that the hotel serves the medical facilities and schools close by, as well as visiting sports teams. There were free cookies at the desk, and she gave me a coupon for the on-site restaurant, which was fantastic. I booked the king suite, the top room on the website. It was roomy, with a fireplace and a pleasant garden view. The Japanese garden is about a ten-minute walk away, with a koi pond and little waterfalls. The pool felt chilly in late November, which made sense, but the hot tub was comfortable and empty. After dinner and a quick swim, I enjoyed the shower with five shower heads, which I assume is only in the higher-end rooms. Breakfast downstairs was the usual hot breakfast selection. The one letdown came at checkout. I asked whether there were extra cookies, and the woman told me they’re only available after 3:00 for check-in. She asked for my room number to get the receipt, but the interaction felt cold compared with the night before. That’s why I took off a star. For a premier hotel, I’d expect a welcoming feeling through checkout, not only on arrival. Still, I had a good stay and plan to come back in a few months.

We were in town for a wedding, and the hotel made things easy. They let us use the lovely garden for our first-look photos and checked us in early. The bridal party could all get ready together in one room. Our room was wonderful and very clean, and breakfast was delicious. Easily one of the best hotels in Oregon.

This stay has reset my expectations for Best Westerns. I’ve used them all over the US and didn’t expect much, but this place felt incredibly high end. The pricing was excellent for what you get. I’ve paid a lot more for much worse, and now I’m already disappointed by hotels I’ve stayed at afterward. My queen room was spacious, nicely furnished, and spotless. The bathroom was bigger than mine at home, with a shower chair and grab bars since it was a mobility room. Out back there’s a beautiful Japanese garden with a koi pond. The pool and spa area were just as clean as the rest of the hotel. The spa was hot, with great jets, and there’s a bathroom in the pool area with a heater, so you don’t have to drip all the way back to your room. The lobby looked beautiful and the staff were warm and welcoming. Breakfast was the standard continental setup for Best Western, and the coffee was really good. It was quiet, and I slept well in the comfortable bed. Well done, Best Western. I’d gladly stay here again.
