Rhonda at the front desk really knows her stuff. She was friendly and genuinely helpful, and when I mentioned wanting authentic tacos, she promptly suggested Don Juan’s. It was just what I wanted. The room was spotless and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in while traveling. Breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from. The warm indoor pool and hot tub were just right for relaxing after a long day, and the media room helped me keep up with work and school. On-site laundry and a well-equipped gym made a multi-day stay easier. It felt like a home away from home, and I’ll definitely come back for business, school, or a getaway.

The suite was roomy and the staff were nice, but the roll-in shower for disabled guests was disappointing. The main shower head didn’t reach the seat, and the handheld wand was weak and too short. I could barely reach the shampoo and body wash. The fold-down seat would’ve worked better in the middle of the shower. It seemed like no one with a physical disability had tested the setup. Apart from that, it’s a great place to stay if you aren’t physically handicapped.

Rhonda checked my kids and me in and was friendly, knew her stuff, and had lots of suggestions. The Village Idiot was a perfect pick for my kid who’s obsessed with trying pizza all over the country. The stay was comfortable, and the kids slept fine on the pull-out bed. Housekeeping was quiet in the halls and worked reasonable hours. I stayed for a while and will be back. The biscuits and gravy were hands down the best breakfast you served 😋

I’m raising my rating to two stars because the manager and front desk handled the problems effectively and were willing to try to improve things. They deserve credit for that. At first, the front desk attendant assigned us to a room someone was already using, so we walked in on an occupied room. We were moved to another room that hadn’t been fully cleaned. The pillows had stains and some strange crust on them, maybe food, maybe blood, I don’t know and don’t want to know. The shampoo dispenser had been torn off the wall and hadn’t been fixed for a while. The sheets and floor didn’t seem very clean, the water pressure was low, and the bed sagged when we lay down. It was convenient enough for the Turnpike and not expensive, but even before the staff helped, I couldn’t give the place more than one star or recommend it. There was also a strange $3 parking surcharge given the location. Really?
